Superstitions and voodoo are rampant across the country. Often it is their reasoning for harm and misfortune. Was it Satan or did God strike them down because of their pact? Pat's theology is incoherent. The only thing that makes sense to me is that Pat is simply playing to a fundamentalist audience that resonates with stupid stuff like this. In the end it is taking much needed attention away from relief efforts - many of them done in the name of Jesus! God's people do sacrificial things for people in need. That should be the headline!
