whenever i hear the name Pat Robertson my instant reaction is to roll my eyes...like you Charlie i pray that it is a righteous frustration, and in moments like this righteous anger.
totally agreed with what michael said...there are few thigns that will get me fired up quicker than comments like this one and what it does for the view of the Christian community. it just makes me sick.
Reply - Quote

Sadly many Haitians probably believe that. Superstitions and voodoo are rampant across the country. Often it is their reasoning for harm and misfortune. On another note, I think Pat Robertson needs to go see the Church Lady again.

So...if they made a pact with Satan who caused the earthquake? Was it Satan or did God strike them down because of their pact? Pat's theology is incoherent. The only thing that makes sense to me is that Pat is simply playing to a fundamentalist audience that resonates with stupid stuff like this. In the end it is taking much needed attention away from relief efforts - many of them done in the name of Jesus! God's people do sacrificial things for people in need. That should be the headline! Instead we get "Pat Robertson is bat shit crazy (are all Christians like this?)" which is the subtext of every article about what he said.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('377','michaeldanner','So...if they made a pact with Satan who caused the earthquake?
The real problem I have is the sense of job security that this mentality finds in using the name of Satan. I think that profiting from following God by claiming the work of Satan is not really much like following God at all.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('376','Jason Schifo','The real problem I have is the sense of job security that this mentality finds in using the name of Satan.
